The whole thing is really sad and disappointing. I wonder how Garland feels about his film not being shown in cinemas in the UK being a British director. I kind of hope the Netflix deal falls through. Can't another production company buy it and ensure it will be seen in cinemas. I don't want to watch Annihilation for the first time on my TV.

One significant thing struck me about this poster. I think its the first and only time Natalie has gotten SINGLE billing on any movie poster. . Even if she is in it for a significant amount of time, which i assume she is. Im guessing billing is something that would have been negotiated by Natalie or her agent, however a single billing name is quite rare in moviedom ( particular for a female star ), Good for her !!

Yeah... it’s really remarkable (in fact, I have mentioned it expressly in the post that I have put on the site). I was not sure about it, but when I saw again the posters of Black Swan and Jackie I noticed that her name didn’t appear alone in any version of them. The trailers also focus on her almost exclusively. Considering the growing fame of Tessa Thompson and Gina Rodriguez, I find it hard to believe that they do not use them at any time in the promotion (until now, of course).

But hey ... I'm not complaining at all. If that means that the movie and the story revolves around her, welcome it ... now it only takes that the film deserves it :)

Of course, I'm still pissed that I will not be able to see the film in theaters. I have Netflix, but what Paramount (and David Ellison) have done with this movie is really disappointing. They have liquidated all possible visibility of the film internationally...

Only five weeks for the release in the US, and no new official promotional material has come out :|

It looks like Paramount don´t want to spend a lot of money promoting this movie. It will not be at the Berlinale, and the only chance to see it somewhere before the release (and create some kind of buzz) would be a surprise screening at Sundance in the next few days...

I'm starting to think that Paramount is going to make a limited release in USA, with the film disappears from theaters in a couple of weeks, just in time for the international release on Netflix.

I really hope I'm wrong...
