Natalie is spearheading a new campaign calling on U.S. lawmakers to stop tearing families apart as authorities crack down on illegal immigration:

I don´t know if I believe this news, especially coming from this gossip website...

Natalie Portman Backs Out of TV Deal Amid Israeli Backlash:

https://theblast.com/natalie-portman-backs-out-tv-deal/

Natalie Portman has pulled out of a deal to acquire the television rights to a book by an Israeli activist, who believes the actress dropped out at the last minute because of the controversy surrounding Portman’s choice to turn down attending a prestigious award ceremony alongside Benjamin Netanyahu.

Portman was in the process of acquiring the rights to the best-selling book “Harpoon” for a TV project where she would have portrayed a real-life Israeli attorney who pioneers a new battlefield to combat international terrorism.

A rep from 5WPR tells The Blast that the co-author and attorney from the book, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, is very disappointed by Portman’s choice to abandon the project.

“She’s such an amazing talent and with her Israeli background would have been really perfect in a Middle Eastern intelligence drama like this” Darshan-Leitner tells The Blast. “It’s so unfortunate the award incident happened as we were trying to conclude.”

I signed that petition. What is happening in the U.S. is horrible and it makes me feel ashamed in being an American.

New project!

Exclusive: Natalie Portman in Talks to Direct and Play Dual Roles in ‘Dear Abby-Ann Landers’ Movie:

http://collider.com/natalie-portman-ann ... bby-movie/

Natalie Portman is nearing a deal to direct an untitled film about Esther and Pauline Friedman, identical twin sisters who are better known as the writers behind the syndicated Ann Landers and Dear Abby advice columns, and the Oscar-winning actress also plans to tackle both roles, multiple sources have told Collider.

Katie Robbins (The Affair) wrote the script, and the film will be produced by Peter Saraf and Dani Melia of Big Beach Films, the company behind such indie hits as Little Miss Sunshine and Safety Not Guaranteed.

Born in Iowa in 1918, Eppie (Esther) and Popo (Pauline), as they were nicknamed, were very close growing up, working together at Morningside College’s school newspaper and participating in a double marriage ceremony on their 21st birthday. However, once Eppie accepted a position as the “Ann Landers” advice columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times, Pauline decided to start her own column, which she called Dear Abby. This created a bitter sibling rivalry, and while the two eventually reconciled in 1964, their rift continued for decades, until Eppie passed away in 2002. Eppie and Pauline’s contentious relationship even trickled down to their two daughters, who continued the family feud going forward. Eppie and Pauline’s husbands and editors will serve as key supporting characters in the film, which does not have a start date at this time.

Festival attendance ?

Postby Jason123 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:12 pm

You would think, God willing, she will be going to TIFF this year. With Vox Lux getting its North American premier on the 7th Sep and Life & Death of John F Donovan getting its premier on the 10th Sep. She seems to attend TIFF so often over the years and Toronto is a great city. I’m so jealous
