Mathilda - comic

Anything to do with the site

Mathilda is not a made-up name, nor is it a registered trademark of the creators of Léon. It's a female name just as Natalie is. I don't find it direspectful at all, in fact if anything, it's a tribute. It's not precisely based off her character since there is a spin (age etc). And it's drawn... I don't see how Natalie's image is being used and how it would make her unhappy. I don't see your point at all.
Vivre, on veut tous vivre
Sans se haïr, sans en mourir
Vivre et se parler, se respecter et même s'aimer...
Vivre...

Your arguments all seem to be perfectly valid, and I am very optimistic that nothing is going to happen, and I even want on board, but I am just playing devil's advocate because I would hate to see any legal action take place that would stiffle this project.

As far as being disrespectful, as an artist I can see how it is a tribute, but it is also just biting the idea. It is obviously a sequel to The Professional so even an homage could be targeted as infringement.

Just mail me some samples of your work and we'll take it from there. Had a couple close calls but the job is still open.

We at natalieportman.com are way into dolphins.

Seriously though, I don't know why but I find that article hysterical. Like way funnier than it is.

Don't you think

Postby Axelrod » Mon Aug 20, 2007 12:18 am

Wouldn't Natalie and Luc Besson be excited about a well-drawn cult comic with regards to their character?

Mathilda Art

Postby angelincubus » Wed Aug 22, 2007 8:01 pm

I want to do it. You can check out my art at my photos section at myspace.com/andrewjohnmontano.

I just want to know if the pages need to be fully colored and lettered, or just black and white, inked.

If you are sure that there will be no legal tie ups then I'm on board.
