What did you eat today?

Anything Goes

Postby Extreme Allah » Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:48 pm

A couple years ago I was absolutely broke and living on my own. I would eat noodles once a day, and nothing else. The idea of paying $4.50 for half a shitty sandwich I could make at home is appalling to me, still. Subway offends my very being.

I actually feel terrible for the Sandwich Artists. The shit people like that take from self-entitled frat boys and BMW-driver dipshits on a daily basis...I was at a Wendy's about a year ago, and I was going back up to get a Frosty (because flash forward one year and Allah is ballin'), and the cargo-pocketed, rich-daddied simian ahead of me's beratement went thusly: "these fries are cold, fagot." He no doubt drove an Xterra.

I find it funny how these minimum wage employees are the only social caste whose displeasing work is encouraged to be voiced back to them, in real time. The poor hump drive a 15-year-old car built in the Pacific Rim, making $4/h -- I mean what are your expectations? And when you're a dick to him, what exactly is his incentive to provide you with this top-level service at bottom-level paygrade?

But you pay an investment handler 3% of $2,000,000, go into his office, have to wait 30mins because he double books appointments, why not yell at him for a while? "These bond billings are poorly diversified, hammer-pud." "Learn Access, homo."

At 7am, when I'm dead tired and haven't eaten in 12 hours and get off a shift of crap work, Subway is a luxury I'll take. I can easily make sandwiches at home, but that's reliant on me having fresh bread, cheese & meat available. The last thing I want to do is get home and then realize I'm missing a crucial ingredient.

The people who make them are pretty friendly, but when I'm one of, if not the first customer of the morning, it's not like they've had to put up with a lot of crap yet.

Or maybe commercial food stylists need a raise.

That's what I get, except I order turkey on wheat bread, provolone cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, no salt or pepper.

I always want carbs, and I read this morning that that can mean you're lacking in protein, so I wisely decided to eat an entire block of tofu to see if this theory was true.

I think it is, I haven't wanted anything remotely carb-y. Normally by now I'd have at least been at the marmite&toast, and quite possibly there'd have been some rice involved.

OK, as I started to read this, I recognized that the crab jokes were all unfunny an juvenile, but by the time I got to proteine, the fact that I'm 12 had pretty much been confirmed to me:

You'll want not for crabs after Allah's protein injection.

I already regret having taken such a cheap angle.
