Cool. I am really impressed with the value of those Fender Blacktops.

I want this:

I think that's the standard 8-string tuning. I think it would probably be cool to tune the 8th string down to E, though, which would give you some interesting options. I think that's common too.

So I played one yesterday...

I was not fully impressed. For a $500 mexican Fender it felt great. It has a Jazz bass neck which is not what I was hoping to try. I wanted the P bass neck. I dunno. I didn't turn it up very loud after I got it plugged in, which may contribute to my not liking it, but I just couldn't get it to sound very good. I guess I've been spoiled by my grindy Rickenbacker and jazz bass.

Quick edit. I forgot to say that the A string wouldn't stay in tune.

I assume a string change should solve that, but it is frustrating what poor care places take of their stock.

I played a 52 AVRI tele the other day that felt like it had barnacles. American standard Fenders have fairly sketchy QC too, as do standard Gibsons. I mean, it's better than on a Squier, but I'm still probably going to fix it anyway, which is why I tend to end up just buying cheap stuff and fixing it up. The end result will sound and play pretty similar, I still have to do it, and it costs a fraction as much.

I think I'll trust your judgment. I have a green Puma one anyway.

Question is what exactly will you be doing in it?

Could make all the difference to which colour scheme is really best
besides to obvious that dark is cool

Actually, tonight I'm hanging out with a girl I met irl, whose first conversation with me included my sharing of the brutalized condition of my nipples that morning. She is pretty cute, and apparently pretty messed up after that intro, so I'm predicting weird sex.

i like the pink one, I suggest you get the first one, the second one's a usual color combo you might end up passing by someone wearing the same thing, I hate it when that happens to me.
